Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s 7th Annual

Advances in Purification & Recovery

August 18-19, 2021

New and unique molecules coming down the pipeline are bringing a new set of challenges to the downstream process development team. Downstream scientists are increasingly looking to disruptive technologies and next-generation materials such as microfluidics, digital twin, high-capacity ligands, custom affinity resins, membranes, automation and digital technologies to meet the challenges of higher upstream titers while improving product yield and reducing cost. CHI’s 7th Annual Advances in Purification & Recovery conference invites scientists to discuss these new trends and technologies, and share their experiences in purification of new modalities including mRNA, exosomes, AAV vectors, cell and gene therapies, recombinant proteins, non-mAbs, etc.

Coverage will include, but is not limited to:

  • Downstream process optimization, intensification and integration
  • Purification of novel therapeutic modalities – antibody derivatives, bispecifics, multi-specifics, mRNA, exosomes, nanoparticles, plasmid DNA, VLPs, AAV vectors, etc.
  • Quantifying and characterizing impurities in cell and gene therapies
  • New materials and novel technologies – development of higher capacity ligands, custom affinity resins, magnetic nanoparticles, microfluidic platforms
  • Comparing batch and continuous processing in downstream purification
  • Digitalizing downstream processes – model-based PAT tools, spectroscopy, QbD, MAM, digital twin, automation and real-time monitoring
