Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s 9th Annual

Advances in Purification & Recovery

Optimizing Downstream Processes

August 16-17, 2023

Newer and more complex molecules coming down the pipeline are bringing a new set of challenges to the downstream process development team, leading to the search for innovative technologies to meet the demand for higher yield while maintaining product quality and reducing cost. CHI’s Advances in Purification & Recovery conference invites scientists to discuss strategies on leveraging platform technologies from mAbs to non-mAbs, and present case studies of next-generation approaches and emerging trends to optimize downstream capture, purification, and recovery of antibodies, complex biologics, and emerging macromolecular entities.

Coverage will include, but is not limited to:

  • Platforming Complex Biologics
    • Leveraging learnings from mAbs for downstream processing of bispecifics, ADCs, fusion proteins, glycoproteins, carbohydrates

  • Purification and Recovery of Macromolecules and Macromolecular Assemblies
    • Extracellular vesicle (EV), lipid nanoparticles, AAV, virus, oligos

  • Next-Generation Materials and Technologies – Adapting Technologies to Complex Biologics and Emerging Modalities
    • Affinity chromatography, high-capacity ligands, custom affinity resins, new membrane technologies, magnetic nanoparticles, microfluidic platforms, depth filtration, ultrafiltration, precipitation/flocculation, automation
    • Chromatographic and non-chromatographic approaches
    • Continuous or intensified processing
    • Application of digital twins, PAT, modeling, real-time monitoring in downstream processes

The deadline for priority consideration is February 3, 2023.

All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
