SC4: Advanced Process Control Strategies in Bioprocesses
This course is focused on critical issues during implementation of advanced process control strategies in bioprocesses. We will summarize specific aspects from data acquisition, data processing to advanced control strategies. We will also discuss software requirements for data management and process control within and along different process scales. The topic is strongly related to PAT/QbD implementation in bioprocesses.
- Identify bottlenecks in planned process monitoring and automation strategies
- Define and interrelate software and model requirements for advanced control
- Definition of basic requirements for predictive models
Gerald Striedner, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria, Head of Working Group Fermentation Technology, Co-Founder of enGenes Biotech GmbH
Master in “Food and Biotechnology” and PhD with focus on bioprocess engineering at the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources (BOKU). Venia docendi in Bioprocess Engineering. Current position Asst. Professor at the Department of Biotechnology (BOKU), head of the working group Fermentation technology and principal investigator in the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB). The working group has established an integrated systems approach for bioprocess development and is focused on the implementation of PAT and QbD concepts in bioprocessing and rational host cell design.
